Bio: Karen Mueller Bryson is an award-winning playwright and novelist. Her plays have been produced throughout the United States. THAZEL HOFFSTETTER LIVES HERE was produced at Unity Fest 2000 at the Bank Street Theatre in New York City. THE DOCTOR WILL SEE YOU NOW was produced by StageWorks in Tampa, Florida and by Potluck Productions in Kansas City, Kansas. THE DOCTOR WILL SEE YOU NOW and MISS FORTUNE are published by Brooklyn Publishers in Odessa, Texas. GOD'S GRACE was produced at Carrollwood Players in Tampa, Florida, and Karen also served as director of the production. BUT DOES HE KNOW BOTTICELLI was produced at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, New York. It also received a staged reading at the Footsteps Theatre in Chicago and received an Honorable Mention in the 1999 McLaren Memorial Playwriting Contest. WHEN FAT CHICKS RULE THE WORLD was a winner of the Scriptwriters of South Carolina Playwriting Contest and received a staged reading. The play was also a semi-finalist in the 13th Annual Henrico Theatre Company One-Act Playwriting Competition. A monologue from the play was included in MONOLOGS FOR YOUNG ACTORS II published by Meriwether Publishing in Colorado Springs. Karen’s Master’s thesis play, THE STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED WHEN BEBE ROMANO SAID SHE WAS HAVING A BABY, was selected as a finalist in the 2002 North Bay Theatre Group-Sonoma County Rep Script Festival. Karen’s first novel, HEY DOROTHY YOU’RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE, is published by Virtualbookworm. Her second novel, WHERE IS WONDERLAND ANYWAY, will be released in the Fall 2002.

Karen earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from Warnborough University in England. Prior to becoming a playwright and novelist, she earned a Master's Degree in Human Development Counseling and worked for a number of years as a counselor and educator.
