Trivia for Salvation

I played electric bass in the band for Salvation from November 1969 through its close in May 1970. This was an unbelievable collection of talent: Bette Midler, just over from "Fiddler On the Roof," newcomers Joe Morton and Barry Bostwick, the singer Yolanda Bovan (replaced Annie Ross in Lambert-Hendricks-Ross), and Northern Calloway, who became one of the first regulars on Sesame Street. I got the job through a college classmate, Jon Bauman, who was music director and keyboard player. After the show closed, Jon went on to become Bowser in Sha Na Na.
