Tales of Sherwood Forest
Author(s):
Ian Gallanar
The Sheriff of Nottingham has big plans for Sherwood Forest -- chop down all the trees and build an amusement park called Slugland. King Richard sends out a decree asking if anyone can propose why the sheriff shouldn't have his way. Enter Robin Hood -- the great, great, great grandson of the legendary Robin Hood. His ancestry is putting a lot of pressure on him (people expect so much!) and he's having an identity crisis. Marion (not "maid," please) proposes he go on a quest to save Sherwood Forest. On this quest, Robin must decipher the meaning of a mysterious saying: "People will protect only what they love, love only what they understand, understand only what they are taught, and teach only what they respect." What could it mean? Robin sets out through the forest. Along the way he meets Fryer Tuck, the short-order cook, Little Jane, a city refugee, and Sibyl, a two-headed dragon. They all have something to teach Robin about the environment. With their help, Robin is able to unravel the environmental mystery and save Sherwood Forest.
