What's Right for Me
Author(s):
Joanna Hempel
Erica learns that her mother wants a divorce because her father's job means they have to move to another state. "I have to do what's right for me," Anne tells her. "You'll keep on in the same school, with the same friends, I'll keep my business. Nothing needs to change." Meeting up with her best friend Sarah in a cafe downtown, Erica shares her confusion, anger and grief over losing touch with a father she loves. They return to Erica's home to find the ideologically-driven neighbour Betty, who has plans for herself and Anne. Erica announces her decision, which is not one her mother expects - to do what she believes is right for her.
