This shocking look at the real life of today's alienated youth was created through improvisation, psychodrama, and brainstorming writing sessions at Dallas' Learning Alternative Center for Expelled Youth. The play is part true experiences and part stories told in the mean streets of the gang members. The action starts with guns blazing and goes through teenage pregnancy, murder, child abuse, drugs, and the twisted demands of gang loyalty. These kids are searching for truth in their high-pressured existence, with Death a constant presence. Two of the murdered cast members become the spirits who may be new angels and can guide their living friends to the beginning of a new way of looking at their lives. As revenge winds the action, the kids through monologues, tell the audience of their lives in the streets. No easy solutions here...just the truth of the street. Area staging.
