The Wall
Author(s):
Richard Lauchman
It is shortly before dawn on the morning of the crucifixion. The two thieves of legend, Dimas and Gestas, wait in their cell. Gestas waits calmly, calling up scraps from his past, hoping to blot out the sound of soldiers erecting the crosses. Dimas gazes through the window at the sweep of stars, worrying about the impending pain and wondering what death will be like. Through a small hole in the wall they can glimpse the other person awaiting crucifixion, the person about whom enormous tales have been told. As the thieves await the dawn, they contemplate the stranger who perhaps could save their souls. (NOTE: Contains adult situations and dialogue.)
