ANGELS WITH PAPER WINGS is the ideal play for any Christmas program because it takes place during the dress rehearsal for a Christmas pageant. Things are not going well. One member of the cast is lonely and has no friends; another is unhappy because she did not get the role she wanted. And both are angry at the stage manager. But the Gold Angel and the Silver Angel (the Spirits of Christmas Pageants) help them to realize that personal problems can disappear in the joy of sharing. And, as the pageant goes forth, the Gold Angel and the Silver Angel look down proudly on their earthly counterparts, their "angels with the paper wings."
