He Lured Her To The Primrose Path
(But He Was Nipped In the Bud) Author(s):
Mary Ruth Parsons
Wiley Sidney Shift uses profits from fraudulent dealings with the cavalry to live grandly at the White Hotel in Muddy Gap where he pursues the heroine, Alice White. But Alice is loyal to the cavalry, especially to Private Will Dew, our hero. To save him, she reluctantly agrees to wed Shift, unwittingly aiding his plot to seize the hotel. But virtue triumphs and Will rights wrongs in true melodramatic style. Written for the 4th Cavalry's 20th reunion, this melodrama received enthusiastic reviews following its preview performance at the University of Missouri.
