More about The Most Beautiful Star:

The Most Beautiful Star

Author(s):
True  Boardman

This is truly a fulfilling Christmas enchantment that will deeply involve your audience. A young girl is helping her family decorate the Christmas tree, but it isn't easy, and gradually we realize that she's blind. The little girl is thrilled as the others describe the bright colors of the decorations, especially the star that's to shine from the treetop. The top, however, is just out of reach, so they decide to put the star up first thing tomorrow, Christmas morning. The girl has prayed so often for the gift of sight, but Jesus has not answered her prayers and she is about to lose hope and faith. But she's so excited about the colorful descriptions of the tree, she goes to bed praying, once again, for Jesus to give her back her sight. With tact and love her family encourages her not to expect too much. Outside a pleasant man in a conservative business suit asks some carolers the location of a certain family--He's been invited. In a moment He's beside the young girl's bed, and as she wakes up something incredible happens—she sees Him! He leads her back to the Christmas tree and together they put the star on the treetop. He encourages her to take a long, breathtaking look at the beautiful colors. Then he tells her that although it will be some years, she will someday see again. It's morning, and as the family gathers by the tree the young girl astounds them with knowing details of the decorations, and to their complete astonishment directs their eyes to the ornament now shining from the top of the tree—the most beautiful star!
