When his estranged grandfather dies, Joseph Reiger reluctantly returns to the house in which he was raised. Wandering up to the attic, he finds Lucifer, the stone angel with a broken wing, to whom he used to bare his soul as a boy. Memories of his past and scenes of his father's life swirl about him intermingling as he struggles to come to grips with having been left as a boy with his mom and grandfather. With so many parallels in their lives, can he be stronger than his father, or is he doomed to repeat the same violent cycle and be the same man his father was? After long "discussions" with Lucifer, Joseph comes to realize that within the pain and loss, there can be strength and love, and no matter the cost, we can all choose different roads to walk in life.
