Androcles and the Lion
Author(s):
Dave Barton
Matt Bond
As the legend goes, Androcles removes a thorn from the Lion's paw, and the Lion returns the favor by not eating Androcles in the Roman arena. Barton and Bond have woven this story into a delightful musical. Androcles and his nagging wife are sold into the service of Caesar. When Androcles falls into disfavor with the Emperor, he is condemned to death in the arena. And there he meets his old friend, the Lion, in a joyous (and hilarious) reunion.
