Educational theatre encourages the development of the "whole child" by dramatizing important social adjustments in an entertaining and theatrical way. Young Jason Etterton has created an imaginary buddy, Big John, to help him cope with a transfer to a new school, low self-esteem and adjustment to his classmates. Together, they act out fantastic solutions to these problems. Reality finally creeps in on Jason, until he must face this different situation by relying on real friends for support and encouragement.
