A phony Santa steals from the rich to give to the poor. Holmes tips off the police that St. Nick plans to steal the crown jewels and to rob wealthy homes in London, then sell the valuables for three pennies to the poor at the thieves' Kringle's Department Store. To do this, the gang will dress up in Santa suits and enter by the chimneys. Scotland Yard counters by dressing its officers in Santa suits. This musical fantasy about Christmas combines fine suspense, good humor and rousing songs. Multiple simple sets.
