The Open Window
Dramatized by James Fuller Author(s):
H.H. Saki Munro
The fun begins when teenager Vera decides to take revenge on her aunt's visitor, Frampton Nuttel. Seizing on the ordinary fact that a window has been left open, innocent-looking Vera spins a fantastic tale of tragedy and delusion. Frampton is so completely taken in that by the time the hostess appears, the quiet English afternoon is charged with an air of doom. Her commonplace remarks as she serves him tea fit so well into the pattern that the audience watches with mounting amusement as Frampton's terror increases dramatically right up to the engaging climax. One int. set.
