This play is based on the true-life experience of Teeda Butt Mam and her family. Told from the viewpoint of 15 year-old Teeda living through the nightmare of Khmer Rouge occupation of Cambodia, the story demonstrates how the individual spirit can prevail against the overwhelming forces of tyranny. Cultural and generational boundaries evaporate as the characters unfold the dignity and courage of this remarkable family infused with love, loyalty and the will to live. Area staging.
