When the Cat Goes Away
Author(s):
Erica Christ
In an interview this playwright said, "This play is part true. I did have a similar situation when I was 16 years old. Parts of this play are more like I wish things would have been." A critic from the Minneapolis Star and Tribune who saw the play at a Young Playwrights Festival described it: "Christ, an 18-year-old senior at St. Paul Academy, writes with great understanding about a romance between a 16-year-old, bright, well-to-do, private school girl and a 21-year-old high school dropout who looks as if he will be a short-order cook for life." This is a strong play from a new writer. Four simple int. sets.
