It Hardly Matters Now
Author(s):
Roger N. Cornish
Forty-four years ago, Carrie and May, two college chums, made a pact. One of them would marry Herb, the other would go to New York to seek her fortune. They flipped a coin to decide which fate would fall to which girl. Now, Carrie and Herb are entertaining May, who has led a wild and glamorous life. During the visit, Herb learns that the old story he and Carrie have always joked about actually did take place when May produces the famous silver dollar.
