The Cry of Crows
Author(s):
James Lee Bray
CRY OF CROWS is a perfect contest play because it is a play for actors working completely without sets. The story involves a lovely young girl whose life in a small town is destroyed by vicious gossip which grows from a chance encounter with an old acquaintance who makes a "pass" at her in public. There is no way for her to halt the "cry of the crows" or to prove her innocence. Only the love of her own boyfriend enables the couple to carry through the web of lies to their own moral victory.
