This tuneful musical-comedy revue on the subject of motherhood is a fun, heartwarming show sure to entertain anyone who's ever been a mother—or had one. A tapestry of songs, skits, quotations and readings, it features an ensemble cast of five women from a teenage girl to a grandmother. The ensemble takes a funny and tender look at such topics as mothers and sons, mothers and daughters, exasperating mothers, endearing mothers, mothers of presidents, grandmothers, single motherhood and adoption, exploring the view of everyone from Abraham Lincoln to Erma Bombeck. "There is never a wasted word, yet the images tug at the emotional umbilical cords of each audience member. Tracey's melodies and lyrics cause everyone to leave humming" (Telegraph Herald, Dubuque). The songs are a delight and cover the gamut of the motherhood experience from "Scream of the Night," to "The Postpartum Blues." An audience member exclaimed, "Mothering Heights was a roller coaster ride of emotion, and I loved every minute of it!" Written by this duo of mothers, the show is intended as a tribute to their mothers and an embarrassment to their children.
