Success
Author(s):
John O'brien
Andy is an aspiring actor who has tried to succeed on the New York stage while his wife Rosalie worked as a waitress. Andy's father offers him the family business so he can retire. Rosalie wants babies and security and she begs Andy to give up his dream of making it. "You're a good actor, Andy, but there are too many good actors and not enough jobs." When next we see him—20 years later—he has just won an Oscar. His bevy of beautiful admirers assures him that he is considered the "funniest man in the world" and that the world is finally at his feet. Only Andy knows the price he has paid, and this forces him to face another decision! Area staging.
