The Princess Who Would Not Marry
Author(s):
Maureen B. Exter
Princess Chloe is now old enough to marry any prince brave enough and lucky enough to slay the dragon. At least that's the tradition—but Princess Chloe has ideas of her own! She refuses to marry anyone but her own choice and, at present, she hasn't any. The king, her father, threatens her with the royal dungeon but Chloe, accustomed to her own way, accuses him of male chauvinism. A handsome prince appears as an applicant and quite captivates the lady-in-waiting, but the princess remains unimpressed. Then another and even more handsome prince arrives and hilariously demolishes the dragon. This prince shares Chloe's modern ideas, which leads to a refreshingly unusual conclusion. Bare stage w/props.
